Journey of Water is a walk-through attraction opening on 16 October

Disney has unveiled several new experiences for Epcot and announced an opening date for the new Moana-themed attraction, Journey of Water.

Launching on 16 October, Journey of Water is a self-guided, walk-through attraction where guests explore lush trails based on the film and beloved characters sculpted in the rock formations.

In the upcoming experience in the park’s World Nature neighbourhood, guests get to play with magical, living water. They can choose between a wet or dry path and decide how friendly they want to get with the water.

Journey of Water also includes a topiary of Te Fiti, and guests can meet Moana in a new area across from the attraction.

Additionally at Epcot, Test Track will be reimagined and inspired by the original World of Motion attraction, and a new nighttime spectacular called Luminous The Symphony of Us debuts on 5 December with fireworks, fountains, lasers, lighting effects and music.

Also, the World Celebration neighbourhood will start welcoming visitors this December, joining the World Discovery and World Nature neighbourhoods at Epcot.

Purple dragon Figment is already greeting guests at Epcot’s Imagination pavilion. Soarin’ Over California is returning to The Land pavilion in World Nature on 22 September for Disney’s 100th anniversary.

The new attractions and experiences are all part of a multi-year transformation of Epcot. They join new additions at the park such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

At this weekend’s Destination D23 event, Disney unveiled some of new offerings planned for Florida’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and California’s Disneyland.

These include a reimagined land featuring attractions inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones at Animal Kingdom and a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge at Magic Kingdom.

Elsewhere, Hong Kong Disneyland has announced an opening date for the world’s first Frozen-themed land.
