Disney also teased an announcement for 4 April featuring a vintage cassette playing ‘Awesome Mix Vol. Cosmic Rewind’.

Disney has shared new images of the queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the new roller coaster opening at Epcot in summer 2022.

Disney said visitors will enter the ‘Galaxarium’, a planetarium-style space that showcases “planets, stars and other wonders that connect Earth and Xandar”.

Cosmic Rewind is a family-friendly roller coaster, and part of the ongoing transformation of Epcot. It is Epcot’s first-ever coaster and boasts the first reverse launch for a Disney coaster.

Imagineering’s Walt Disney World site portfolio executive, Zach Riddley, also unveiled the ‘Galaxarium’, which he described “as a planetarium-like exhibition where guests will first be introduced to Xandar”.

“This space is really dynamic, organized around a radial grid where guests rise an entire level with sinuous ramping, allowing you to take in the media on the dome above from many vantage points,” Riddley said.

“The lighting and architectural elements echo the color and aesthetic of Xandar and give a great mood to our first act of this attraction.”

“I cannot wait for guests to experience this space for themselves, and all that awaits beyond – including some wonderful nods to Epcot history that I know our favorite Epcot fans will enjoy,” he added.

Disney has also teased an announcement for today (4 April) featuring a vintage cassette playing ‘Awesome Mix Vol. Cosmic Rewind’. The caption translates to “transmission incoming << Monday.”
