Glenn Close revealed that she will reprise her role as Nova Prime for the Guardians of the Galaxy-themed coaster.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is launching in summer 2022 at Walt Disney World’s Epcot, and Disneyland Paris is set to open the latest Avengers Campus in summer 2022.

Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney parks, experiences and products, announced the news about Cosmic Rewind at Destination D23. Glenn Close joined the event, revealing that she will reprise her role as Nova Prime for the Guardians of the Galaxy-themed coaster.

“Hi Disney parks fans, it’s Glenn Close here, and I am so excited to be reprising my role as Nova Prime for an all-new attraction coming to Epcot next summer called Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind,” she said. “We can’t wait to see you all there so you can help us save the galaxy.”

Visitors will meet Nova Prime at Epcot’s new ‘other-world’ Wonders of Xandar pavilion, which is under construction in the park’s World Discovery neighbourhood. D’Amaro shared new renderings of the Xandar Gallery, where guests will learn about the Xandarian people.

Disney also released a teaser image for Cosmic Rewind, which features characters Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Drax and Star-Lord. In addition, the poster offers a look at the coaster’s ride vehicles.

Cosmic Rewind is a family-friendly roller coaster, and part of the ongoing transformation of Epcot. It is the first coaster at Epcot, and boasts the first reverse launch for a Disney coaster.

Earlier this year, Imagineering’s Walt Disney World site portfolio executive Zach Riddley said the coaster was nearing completion at Epcot. “This stunning new addition to Epcot will feature some firsts for the park,” Riddley said.

Additionally, Disneyland Paris is set to open the new Avengers Campus in summer 2022 at Walt Disney Studios. The immersive land is launching to coincide with the resort’s 30th anniversary.
