Disneyland's planned Avatar experience could be an entire Avatar land, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger.
At Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media and Telecom conference on Monday (4 March), Iger said: "We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We're going to put a second one in California."
Until now, Avatar fans were expecting a themed experience or attraction, rather than a whole land like Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida.

"We have thousands of acres of land still to develop," Iger added. "We could actually build seven new full lands if we wanted to around the world, including the ability to increase the size of Disneyland in California, which everybody thinks is kind of landlocked, by 50 percent."
He said: "You can look at every single location that we've got, and there's land opportunity. But most importantly, we have so much IP to mind that there's opportunity there to create experiences that we know people would love to have in our parks."
The new Avatar experience at Disneyland was first confirmed by Iger during a quarterly earnings call in February last year. “We’re going to bring a version of Avatar to Disneyland,” he said.
Disneyland expansion
Later, Disneyland president Ken Potrockrevealed more. “Our Imagineers are working with Jim Cameron and his team,” he said(viathe Orange County Register). “We’re going to share lots more details as they become available."
Last month, Disneyland opened its newPixar Place Hotel. The first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the US draws inspiration from films such asToy Story,RatatouilleandElemental.
“We are looking toturbocharge expansionat Disneyland Resort over the coming years, and the transformation of Pixar Place Hotel is a demonstration of how we’re creating high-quality guest experiences infused with our most popular stories,” said Potrock.
