Disneyland‘s animated neighbourhood is home to new interactive experiences.

Disneyland’s reimagined Mickey’s Toontown land has reopened as part of the Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary celebrations.

The animated neighbourhood is home to new interactive experiences and the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction, which launched on 27 January.

“Mickey’s Toontown first opened 30 years ago, so there are generations of Disneyland Resort guests who have grown up with it and made magical memories here,” said Jeff Shaver-Moskowitz, portfolio executive producer at Walt Disney Imagineering.

“Walt Disney Imagineering set out to keep the essence of what makes Mickey’s Toontown special for so many – while evolving it for the coming generations of families who can’t wait to make new memories here.”

The land’s CenTOONial Park is anchored by two new play attractions; a fountain with water tables offering a sensory experience and a ‘dreaming tree’ with sculpted roots for crawling and exploration.

Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard boasts a whimsical sound garden and a new elevated clubhouse where guests can operate a candy-making contraption, while Donald’s Duck Pond has a boat surrounded by spinning water lilies, balance beams and toys.

‘Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin’ is still available at Mickey’s Toontown, and Gadget’s Go Coaster has become ‘Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster’.

Additionally, Disneyland guests will meet characters including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, Clarabelle and Pete.

As for F&B, visitors can enjoy two new dining locations – Café Daisy and the Good Boy! Grocers farmers market stand.

Play and wellness at Disneyland

Located adjacent to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, EngineEar Souvenirs is selling toys, clothing and accessories.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Disney’s first ride-through attraction featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse, opened at Walt Disney World in March 2020.

Also at Disneyland, the resort’s Tenaya Stone Spa is introducing new wellness experiences, including yoga at both theme parks, and new treatments and massages.

Earlier this month, Disney CEO Bob Iger admitted that Disney’s theme park pricing strategies were “too aggressive”.
