Disneyland Paris has created a replica of its Sleeping Beauty Castle using 300kg of recycled glass as part of a waste recycling campaign.
In partnership with Ecovidrio, the recycled replica of the Sleeping Beauty Castle was installed at the beginning of June in the Spanish town of Boadilla del Monte.
“We have been working together with Disneyland Paris for three years now,” said Borja Martiarena, marketing director of Ecovidrio, a non-profit responsible for recycling Spain’s glass packaging waste.
“At the heart of both companies is the awareness and mobilization of young people, children, and families to build a better world together.”
Earlier this year, Disneyland Paris started operating the first section of its solar canopy plant, which will supply 10 GWh per year. This is equivalent to the annual energy consumption of a city with 4,800 residents.

Once complete, it will be one of the largest solar canopy plants in Europe. It will produce 36 GWh per year by 2023 – equivalent to the annual energy consumption of a city with 17,400 inhabitants.
“Disneyland Paris’s commitment to the environment is a tradition in our company, which began with Walt Disney himself and which we continue to grow every day,” said the resort’s VP of sales and distribution, Kate Boyle.
“We are very excited to collaborate for the third consecutive year on this project. It is a very significant year for us, as we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris, so we wanted the 2022 campaign to be even more special and magical.”
Meanwhile, Disneyland Paris’ Avengers Campus is opening on 20 July. The new land is the most ambitious expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park since its opening in 2002.
