Dutch fairytale theme park Efteling has opened its new hotel, and with it set the Guinness World Record for the largest ribbon bow.
Opened on 1 August, the Efteling Grand Hotel is the first hotel to be located inside the walls of the theme park.
The enormous bow was used to decorate the hotel’s exterior and measures 16.74 metres wide and 17.15 metres high.
“We’ve looked forward to opening Efteling Grand Hotel for a long time,” said Fons Jurgens, CEO of Efteling.
“With this, we’re adding the largest hotel ever to our accommodation offering, combining a remarkable level of refinement and luxury.
“And for the first time, guests can now stay within the park boundaries of Efteling. That deserves a grand celebration – and the Guinness World Record reinforces that perfectly.”
First hotel inside Efteling debuts
The Efteling Grand Hotel is the largest hotel at Efteling, with seven floors, and 140 rooms and suites.
It includes a swimming pool and spa, two unique restaurants, a coffee bar, and a large gift shop.
The hotel’s rooms and suites overlook Efteling, providing views of the Aquanura water show, the House of the Five Senses entrance, the Fairytale Forest, or the Pardoes Promenade.
As for the restaurants, these are Brasserie 7 on the ground floor and Restaurant-Bar Mystique on the first floor.
Brasserie 7 serves classic dishes created with magical ingredients like princess tears and snow from the Mother Holle attraction in the Fairytale Forest.
Restaurant-Bar Mystique provides a premium dining experience. The tables are covered in edible decorations, and guests can create a magical flavour formula to be used in some dishes.
In more news, Efteling is creating a new family attraction called Hooghmoed. The free-fall ride is due to open next summer and is located next to the Baron 1898 dive coaster.
