Two new visitor attractions come to Universal Orlando: the unique interactive ‘Superstar Parade’, an interactive extravaganza, and Universal’s ‘Cinematic Spectacular’, which takes guests on a retrospective journey through film’s most powerful and emotional moments.
Universal Orlando has announced that their two new fantastic entertainment attractions are to have a joint grand opening at the venue on May 8th.
Universal’s Superstar Parade will feature some of televisions best-loved characters such as the minions from popular cartoon Despicable Me, E.B from comedy show Hop and Nicklelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora & Diego. The parade will also put on an all new show that encourages guests to really get involved with the street adventures and stories.
The Superstar Parade will have attention-grabbing, large floats, bang up-to-the-minute technology and hundreds of street performers, guaranteed to leave families wanting more. Visitors will also be treated to performances at various spots throughout the day, as well as character meet-and-greets.
Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories also promises to offer guests a truly special entertainment experience, as it takes them on an incredible journey through film. The show will be narrated by Academy Award-winning actor and Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille honouree, Morgan Freeman and will be a spectacular, high-tech extravaganza with lighting effects, stunning audio-visuals and special effects.
The show will represent around 300 Academy Award nominations and 100 winners and feature some of the most memorable and dramatic moments from almost 200 Universal films. The new show will run all year round apart from during annual and special events and is set in Universal Studios lagoon, a setting which does justice to the drama of the show, with its synchronised fountains, pyrotechnics and powerful musical score.
This year has also seen the re-opening of Universal’s The Blue Man Group Show and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, as well as the launch of the new Hollywood Drive-in Miniature Golf attraction at Universal Citywalk.
A new ride will also launch this summer – Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.
