Hong Kong-based investment firm PAG has agreed to acquire Japan’s Dutch-inspired theme park Huis Ten Bosch for an equity valuation of approximately 100 billion yen ($720 million).
PAG is acquiring Huis Ten Bosch, which recreates a traditional Dutch town, from Japanese travel conglomerate H.I.S. Huis Ten Bosch is Japan’s largest theme park.
It offers flower and fireworks festivals, light shows and interactive entertainment. The park also includes five hotels and several restaurants. Pre-pandemic, it welcomed more than two million annual visitors.

PAG plans to expand the theme park by investing in new attractions and events. The company previously invested in Universal Studios Japan and Tencent Music Entertainment.
Since its founding, PAG has invested more than $70 billion across the Asia-Pacific region. The firm has been investing in Japan for more than 25 years.
