Intamin, a creator of record-breaking amusement rides, has presented the latest immersive ride experience to enter the market ahead of this month’s IAAPA Expo, with the Dynamic Motion Stage.
Described by the firm as “an immersive ride unlike anything you’ve experienced before”, the main platform of the Dynamic Motion Stage moves with the assistance of four hydraulic cylinders around a centrally fixed support. This support ensures a minimal clearance envelope is necessary, so the horizontal movements of the platform are not able to extend beyond its edge.
This allows for the construction of show sets near the audience and the facilitation of ride entry and exit without the need for extra infrastructure.
The Dynamic Motion Stage can heave and drop riders up to 3 metres at a pace of 3 m/s, creating the illusion of weightlessness. It can also conduct pitch, roll, and yaw movements.
Customisable experience
Each cabin pod can rotate indefinitely and in conjunction with the rotation of the main platform (which also offers unlimited rotation). This gives complete control over your guests’ experience and lets them engage with one another throughout the ride’s story. The cabin pods are also capable of tilting, with overlapping movements together producing a multidimensional, repeatable experience.

Matching customers’ demands, Brass Ring Award-nominated Intamin can provide a variety of vehicle combinations, such as individual cabins that circularly face inward or outward and tilt at your discretion.Â
The entire stage space can also be set up as one big theatre seating area with rows throughout the entire platform for an experience as a cutting-edge motion cinema.
“The configuration options are very broad, we are confident to find the right one for your project,” says a company representative. “All of the seating configurations [use our] ergonomically shaped seats with individual lap bar restraints to ensure maximum freedom and comfort as well as the highest safety.”
First venue confirmed
The experience can take place on several levels with the Dynamic Motion Stage ride. When the stage is horizontal, the primary level is at eye level; the secondary level, which is visible when the stage is tilted, is at a level below the platform. Additionally, the stage can be slanted upwards to create a focal point in the area of the ceiling above the attendees. Operators will always have complete control over where guests’ attention is focused, thanks to the system’s flexibility of mobility.
Efteling recently confirmed it will be one of the first parks to implement the brand new ride system, with the new Danse Macabre ride acting as a spiritual successor to its long-lasting Spookslot haunted castle attraction.
