The board of directors at Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has just announced the appointment of Jim Reid-Anderson as the company’s new Chairman, Present and CEO. His appointment is effective immediately.

Reid-Anderson has been serving as Executive Chairman of the company since February 2016.
“Six Flags is the leading regional theme park company in an extremely attractive industry,” says Reid-Anderson. “We have significant global growth opportunities in the short, medium and long term.”
He will replace John M. Duffey who has retired from the company. “I do want to wish John all the very best for the future and to thank him for his major contributions during his excellent tenure with the company, including his time as president and CEO,” says Reid-Anderson.
This won’t be the first time Reid-Anderson has held the reins at Six Flags. He previously served as Chairman, President and CEO from August 2010 through to February 2016.
Seven record years in a row
During that period, he guided the company into setting a new strategic direction. Guest and employee satisfaction ratings were at an all-time high. He made substantial operational improvements, and was also responsible for driving a ten times return on investment for shareholders.
Reid-Anderson is no stranger to leadership roles. He formerly served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dade Behring Inc. The company manufactures and distributes medical diagnostics equipment and supplies. He also drove a ten times return on investment for shareholders at this post, alongside employee morale improvements and a large increase in customer satisfaction.
Six Flags will also release second-quarter 2017 financial results on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. It is the largest amusement park company in the world, based on number of properties owned, and ranks fifth in terms of attendance.
“I am very proud and excited to rejoin the operating team,” says Reid-Anderson. “I look forward to executing our business strategy. We have had seven record years in a row and I believe that the best is yet to come.”
