Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers debuts with the new Camp Snoopy area

Ohio’s Kings Island theme park has released a POV video of its new Peanuts-themed coaster, Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, which opens on Memorial Day weekend.

A family-friendly coaster, Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers is manufactured by Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist.

Another Vekoma Family Boomerang named Good Gravy opened this year at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana.

Riders on Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers board themed coaster cars and are hoisted up a 70-foot hill to the starting line. As Snoopy waves his flag, guests will be released and launched forwards onto a track full of twists and turns, before enjoying the same course in reverse.

The POV video also unveils progress on the ride’s landscaping, the queue line, and the Pigpen’s Mess Hall F&B outlet.

Kings Island’s new coaster debuts alongside the new Camp Snoopy on 24 May. Camp Snoopy is an expansion of the park’s award-winning Planet Snoopy area.

In addition to Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, the updated zone includes Beagle Scout Acres, a play area for kids.

Camp Snoopy to open on 24 May

Kings Island is owned and operated by Cedar Fair, which is expected to merge soon with fellow amusement park company Six Flags.

Knott’s Berry Farm is also due to open a new Camp Snoopy area. Zamperla, a leading ride manufacturer, recently revealed unveiled some of the zone’s new attractions.

Set to open this summer, Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry Farm includes rides like Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster, Sally’s Swing Along, and Camp Snoopy’s Off-Road Rally.
