Dino Valley at Legoland California will include two new rides

Legoland California has revealed plans to open a new land called Dino Valley in spring 2024 as part of the theme park’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

Additionally, the park in Carlsbad will launch the first parade in its history, called Lego World, in summer 2024.

The new Dino Valley land replaces the current Explorer Island land and includes two new rides – the Explorer River Quest and Duplo Little Dino Trail. These will join the park’s existing Coastersaurus dinosaur-themed coaster.

New dino-themed rides and experiences

The former is a river expedition to see Lego dinosaurs including a T-Rex, and the latter is a safari ride to spot Duplo dinosaurs.

The land will also include a new dinosaur-themed build and play area, described by the park as a space “where imagination meets prehistoric wonders”.

Guests will enjoy meet and greet sessions with new characters, as well as a reimagined Dino Dig fossil discovery sandbox.

As for the new Lego parade, this will include incredible floats such as a Lego City firetruck and a pirate ship, and more themed to Ninjago, Duplo, Lego City and Lego Friends.

“As the first Legoland park in North America, it’s remarkable to see how Legoland California’s legacy of play has inspired generations of families over the last 25 years,” said Legoland California president Kurt Stocks. “It’s a privilege for us to debut North America’s first-ever Lego World parade in 2024, alongside our newest land, Dino Valley, where the past comes roaring to life in Lego form.”

In more Legoland news, Legoland Windsor in the UK is opening a duelling coaster called Minifigure Speedway in 2024, and Legoland Florida is expanding to offer a Sea Life aquarium.
