Legoland Windsor Resort has unveiled its multi-million-pound land, Lego Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures, as well as the first flying theatre ride in the UK.

Flight of the Sky Lion is the UK’s first flying theatre and stands at more than 25 metres tall. It takes visitors to a parallel universe brimming with mythical LEGO creatures, including the two-headed Hydra and the Chimera. Brogent Technologies, a leading manufacturer of media-based attractions, supplied the flying theatre ride system.

Legoland Windsor has also released information about the other rides at Lego Mythica, including two drop towers called Fire and Ice Freefall and a water attraction named Hydra’s Challenge.

The land includes 13 mythical creatures created from more than 1.7 million Lego bricks. The resort’s new augmented reality (AR) technology bring the Lego creatures to life.

Lego Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures is the single biggest investment and largest expansion at Legoland Windsor since it opened in 1996.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing the first flying theatre ride to the UK and today revealing all the rides and attractions which will make Lego Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures a must-do experience for families in 2021,” said Helen Bull, divisional director at Legoland Windsor.

“The whole country has never needed escapism more than they do right now and we’ve worked closely with children and their families to make sure our new land delivers the thrills for everyone, whether it’s their 25th visit to Legoland Windsor or their very first.

“Subject to Government guidelines, we’re planning to open Lego Mythica on Saturday 29 May and tickets are on sale now to experience the country’s first flying theatre as well as everything else the park has to offer.”
