Mack Animation, a leading animation studio and film production company, has announced details of its latest animated creation, Happy Family Next Level 4D.

The new film is the fifth 4D feature that Mack Animation has produced for Europa-Park, with a brief to be of the highest feature-film quality and accompanied by a range of special effects.

The 10-minute short was written and directed by Waldemar Fast and is based on the popular Monster Family feature-film franchise, also produced by Mack Animation.

Happy Family Next Level 4D will make its debut in the Magic Theatre, found in the French-themed area of the German theme park, alongside headline attractions such as Eurosat – Can Can Coaster and Silver Star.

Mack Animation has also worked on other attractions at Europa-Park, such as the major refurbishment of Pirates in Bavaria.

Scarily good fun

The story, which is a family-friendly take on the horror-comedy genre, tells the tale of the Wishbone family, who find themselves transported into a video game-inspired universe.

The family members are transported by a virtual reality machine built by son Max and must overcome challenges in order to escape safely.

Together with the Wishbones, guests will enjoy enhanced action and scares thanks to first-person 4D effects. Fans who have enjoyed the main feature film will be able to relate to familiar locations and characters, along with those who have experienced the Monster Family VR coaster experience.

“The movie keeps its promise of a lot of action and fun, and features entertainment for the whole family,” says the firm.

“The audience gets a gripping and varied experience throughout this movie. Visually the film combines animation film and computer game elements in an innovative way, that is also a nod to the younger generations in the audience.”

Following its initial run at Europa-Park, the film will become available for other 4D Cinema locations worldwide.

Mack Animations has also completed work for a top Chinese theme park operator, with the launch of Kaka and Kiki’s Magical Circus Adventure for the Chimelong Group.
