The UK attraction would be Puy du Fou‘s third international destination.

Puy du Fou, an award-winning historical and cultural visitor attraction, is looking for its first UK site with the help of British real estate company Savills.

The operator is seeking a 300 to 400-acre site in central England, ideally within a 40-mile radius of Oxford. The UK attraction would be the company’s third international venue.

Puy du Fou currently has two permanent locations, in Les Epesses in the Pays de la Loire region of western France and Toledo, Spain.

“Puy du Fou is an incredibly popular interactive visitor attraction that centres its shows on a country’s unique history,” said Ian Simpson, head of the leisure and trade team at Savills.

“The operator has been attracted to the UK because of the richness and depth of British history and culture and we are delighted to support the group in its search.”

Puy du Fou has created a unique artistic concept in the entertainment industry. Its parks do not feature roller coasters or rides, instead offering spectacular shows, immersive experiences, period villages and themed hotels.

Simpson added: “In recent years we have seen the popularity of experiential and immersive visitor attractions grow in the UK and with the UK’s extensive history, this will add a unique experience for the British public.”

Created in France in 1977, Puy du Fou is France’s second most-visited attraction. In 2021, Puy du Fou España launched in Toledo. The group is also opening a new show concept called Saga in Shanghai in 2022, and is developing a new park in China.

Triotech, an award-winning creator of media-based attractions, recently confirmed its involvement in the upcoming Saga experience.

Additionally, Puy du Fou is creating a new walk-through show about Cherokee history in Sevier County, Tennessee. The project will be Puy du Fou’s first in the US.
