Gensler-designed venue to offer entertainment experiences

Saudi Entertainment Ventures (Seven) has unveiled its new $350 million entertainment destination in the Jazan region.

Seven, part of Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), has awarded the development contract to Alfanar Projects. The venue will be designed by Gensler, a global architecture and planning firm.

Amer Alajmi, executive vice president of Alfanar Projects, said: “Our shared commitment to excellence and innovation will ensure the project meets the highest quality of standards and contributes meaningfully to the kingdom’s growing entertainment sector.

“This project is an exciting opportunity for Alfanar to play a key role in bringing world-class experiences to the Jazan community and beyond.”

Thrill rides and Hot Wheels e-karting

Located close to North Corniche Park along Jazan’s waterfront, the attraction will offer 73,000 square metres of entertainment and leisure facilities.

Abdullah Al-Dawood, chairman of Seven, said the project reflects the company’s “ongoing commitment to enriching the kingdom’s entertainment offering and enhancing the quality of life for communities across Saudi Arabia”.

He added: “This destination celebrates the natural diversity and rich cultural heritage of the Jazan region, providing exceptional leisure experiences for residents and visitors alike.

“As Seven expands across the kingdom, our focus remains on creating vibrant spaces that bring people together.”

Highlights in the new Jazan destination include an indoor golf course, a state-of-the-art cinema complex with multiple theatres, a Hot Wheels-themed electric karting rack, and an entertainment district housing world-class thrill rides.

Additionally, it will house an indoor edutainment centre by Discovery Adventures, as well as cafes, restaurants and retail outlets.

Seven is investing $13 billion in the development of 21 entertainment destinations in 14 cities across Saudi Arabia. For these, it has secured partnerships with companies including Mattel, Hasbro and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Damien Latham, chief attractions officer at Seven, recently spoke to blooloop about the company’s new Transformers-themed entertainment centres.
