Six Flags is adding a host of new attractions to its theme parks for 2024, including three coasters, DC-themed rides, and family-friendly experiences.
In addition to upgrades at many Six Flags parks, the new attractions represent the company’s largest investment in more than a decade.
Included in the expansion are five new rides in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and DC.
The new coasters include a state-of-the-art Ultra Surf coaster, the first Super Boomerang coaster in North America, and the Bobcat wooden coaster.

“This investment is central to our strategy to create fun and memorable experiences for every member of the family and reinforces Six Flags’ position as the leader in thrills,” said Selim Bassoul, president and CEO of Six Flags. “This builds on our recent efforts to offer new events and dining experiences by also introducing new rides for thrill-seekers and families, all while making improvements to many existing popular rides.”
Six Flags’ new additions
- Six Flags Over Texas will transform the world’s first log flume into one of the world’s longest log flumes with El Rio Lento
- Six Flags Fiesta Texas is expanding its DC Universe land to offer Cyborg Cyber Revolution, Shazam! Tower of Eternity and Metropolis Transit Authority
- Six Flags Great Adventure is introducing the first Vekoma Super Boomerang coaster in North America with The Flash: Vertical Velocity
- Six Flags St. Louis is opening The Joker: Carnival of Chaos, one of the world’s tallest pendulum rides
- Six Flags Great America is adding Sky Striker, another giant pendulum attraction
- Six Flags Over Georgia is opening an Intamin Ultra Surf coaster featuring unique surfboard-shaped trains with free-spinning seats
- Six Flags Great Escape is adding the Bobcat wooden coaster, which will travel at nearly 40 mph
As well as the above attractions, many Six Flags parks will update their existing rides. Six Flags Fiesta Texas, for example, is re-theming Supergirl Sky Flight, Green Lantern: Airborne, Poison Ivy: Toxic Spin, The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway and Batgirl: Gotham City Chase.
Elsewhere, Six Flags America will house an updated SteamTown with a new storyline, three reimagined attractions, the return of an award-winning stunt show, and new F&B and retail. This area will include the new SteamWhirler family thrill ride.
This week, Six Flags also announced a partnership with Google Cloud to enhance the visitor experience and improve business operations.
Through this collaboration, Six Flags will introduce a virtual assistant powered by generative AI later this year on the revamped Six Flags mobile app and park websites.
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, said: “Generative AI can help Six Flags accelerate their ambitions to transform both the customer and employee experience. By ingesting and synthesizing information across Six Flags’ extensive park portfolio, generative AI will enable the theme park operator to redefine guest experiences, providing more personalized information about rides, entertainment, dining and more.”
