Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive hotel experience that takes place on the luxurious Halcyon starcruiser, has officially launched at Walt Disney World Resort.

The two-night Star Wars-themed hotel begins at the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal. Guests board a Launch Pod and travel through hyperspace, before docking with the Halcyon ship and arriving at the main deck atrium.

After being escorted to their cabins, guests head back down to the atrium for the ship’s muster, led by Captain Riyola Keevan and Cruise Director Lenka Mok. Guests then get the chance to explore the ship, perhaps enjoying a drink at the Sublight Lounge or shopping for merchandise at The Chandrila Collection.

Immersive Star Wars-themed hotel

Activities during the experience include bridge training and lightsaber training, as well as a musical performance by galactic superstar Gaya in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room.

“The events of your stay at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser are set between the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” said Matt Martin, from Lucasfilm franchise content and strategy.

“As a passenger, you get to choose your own path and the parts of Star Wars that really call to you, that are special to you, you get to go live those,” Martin added.

New experience at Walt Disney World

“We’ll get to see some of the characters that we know and love from the films, including Rey and Kylo, who will actually meet up again for probably the first and maybe the only time between those two films.”

Passengers can alter their own storyline as they interact with characters, crew and other guests. In addition, each cabin features its own ‘window into space’, offering ever-changing views of spectacular ships and heavenly happenings.

The experience also includes a trip to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the largest and most technologically advanced single-themed land expansion in Disney history.
