TEA announces roundtable speakers

News

The Themed Entertainment Association‘s State of the Industry Roundtable will take place during the 2022 TEA Summit

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), a non-profit representing compelling places and experiences worldwide, has provided details of its roundtable speakers for this month’s event.

Forming part of the 2022 TEA Summit, the State of the Industry Roundtable will take place at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, US, and will feature eight speakers from the themed entertainment industry. Executives from both operator and manufacturer-side will give a wider perspective to attendees on how themed entertainment has progressed through a period of uncertainty, and offer personal insights into the future of the industry.

The session will be moderated by Adam Bezark, president and creative director of The Bezark Company. Panellists include:

  • Barbara Bouza, president, Walt Disney Imagineering
  • Yael Coifman, senior partner, Leisure Development Partners, and TEA EME Board President
  • Chuck Fawcett, chairman, MediciXD, and TEA International Board President
  • Quan Gan, president, Gantom Lighting and Controls
  • Tom Mehrmann, president, Pacific Rim, Universal Parks and Resorts
  • Jakob Wahl, COO, IAAPA
  • Brian Sands, innovation sector manager, HKS
  • Oksana Wall, P.E., director, Themed Entertainment, AOA

A representative from TEA says: “Voices from a spectrum of perspectives provide an unscripted conversation, starting with the uncertainties and questions affecting us now and leading to the answers we need going forward. Panellists will gain from one another and have an open discussion on topics impacting our industry and work.”

Speakers and winners

TEA has also announced speakers for other parts of the event, including Day One keynote presenter Matt Dunsmoor, and Buzz Award winner Doris Hardoon.

The Gala Awards will celebrate winners of the Thea Awards, with winners having been announced at IAAPA Expo last year. International projects among the announced winners include Stuntronics – Aerial Robotics Technology (US), Super Nintendo World (Japan) and Wētā Workshop Unleashed (New Zealand).

Tickets for the TEA Summit and Gala are now available to purchase online.

The TEA has also provided details for its European SATE event which will be held at Liseberg, in Gothenburg, Sweden, between 4 – 7 May 2022.
