The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), a non-profit representing compelling places and experiences worldwide, has opened nominations for the 2024 TEA Masters.
The TEA Masters of Their Craft programme honours exceptional artists, writers, producers, engineers, and craftspeople who have made outstanding contributions to the themed entertainment industry.
Innovators from all over the world are nominated and acknowledged by their peers. Nominations are open from 15 April until 15 June, and can be submitted here.
Honouring excellence
Each year, the TEA Masters of Their Craft programme recognises a limited group of professionals whose skills embody the greatest standards within their professions. These individuals have used their expertise to improve their field and the themed entertainment sector.
Over their career, each TEA Master has developed a body of work that exhibits a consistent standard of quality and execution. TEA Masters contribute to the creation of narratives, rides, attractions, events, and locations that excite, delight, and educate visitors globally, yet are frequently unknown outside of their peers and collaborators.
Masters come from a wide range of individual backgrounds and disciplines, with an increasingly international presence. The TEA Masters of Their Craft programme emphasises the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion in its chosen fields. It fosters new creative ideas and broadens the audience who can relate to themed environments.
The TEA says: “Let’s seek out those shining stars who come from a wide range of geographic areas and from diverse backgrounds, so we are inclusive as we grow our community.
“To nominate a Master you know, who you’ve worked with, shared experiences with, and whose work has impacted the industry, submit your nomination now.”
Being selected as a TEA Master is not only an honour but also an opportunity to serve. Masters take part in a variety of mentorship and education projects that assist students and fellow professionals in developing their abilities, advancing their careers, and establishing international standards of excellence.
The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) recently provided a live stream of the 30th Annual Thea Awards Gala, which took place on Saturday 16 March 2024 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.
The annual celebration recognises excellence within the themed entertainment industry, showcasing the value of experience design and themed entertainment in engaging visitors across the globe. This year those unable to attend in person could watch the event live, from any location.
