Toverland, an amusement park in the Netherlands, has announced a new haunted house experience and unveiled the scare zones and thrills coming to Halloween Nights.
The Halloween events will take place on 14 dates in October and November, with 120 scare actors, five scare zones, haunted houses and a maze.
The new haunted house is called ‘Maison de la Magie’. It belongs to the fictional world-famous illusionist Oscar Pendula, who disappeared when one of his illusions went wrong in the 1930s.
The abandoned mansion invites visitors to go on a terrifying tour, which lasts for approximately 15 minutes, looking for Oscar’s darkest secrets.

In addition, two scare zones have been redesigned. ‘Cirque – Royal Edition’ has been extended this year, and features clowns, performers and circus creeps. ‘Morgana’s Frozen Knights’ will see visitors battling with Morgana’s ice knights.
Halloween Nights is also offering a walk-through experience called ‘The Witches Forest’, another haunted house known as ‘Fear the Woods’, and the ‘Trapped’ maze. Also returning for 2020 are scare zones ‘Shadows of the Sea’, ‘DesTroy’, and ‘Los Muertos’.
Of course, Toverland is implementing additional health and safety measures during Halloween Nights, including a selfie spot at each scare zone where visitors can take selfies with scare actors at an appropriate distance.

Additionally, scare zones will feature one-way systems to manage the flow of people, and haunted house ‘Fear the Woods’ has been moved to a bigger location. Tickets must be booked in advance as capacity is limited due to the coronavirus crisis.
Scaredy-cats can also rejoice, with Toverland supplying a ‘Halloween Magic Wand’. As soon as the wand lights up, the theme park’s ghouls automatically disappear.
Halloween Nights takes place on select dates between October 9 and November 8, with extra family-friendly Halloween activities.
Toverland reopened earlier this year following the ‘A Safe Day Out Together’ protocol in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.
