Theme park visitor spending in the UAE is expected to rise six-fold in just four years, reports Gulf News.
Last year, UAE guests spent around $105 million. With visitor numbers predicted to rise to over 19 million by 2020, visitor spending is also expected to jump to $637 million.
Andrew Calthorpe, Chief Executive Officer of theme park consultancy, Condo Protego, cites cutting-edge technology as a key factor in delivering this predicted boom.
He said the parks’ ability to collect real-time information allowed them to optimise the guest experience. Significant leading-edge services include queue management via mobile apps and dynamic peak and off-peak pricing.
