Universal Beijing Resort has reopened to the public after being closed for nearly two months due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the Chinese capital.
Although the resort is operating at limited capacity, booking numbers are beating all other theme parks in China, Global Times reports. Around 4,000 guests were at the park on Saturday (25 June).
All visitors are required to show proof of a negative coronavirus test within the last 72 hours and comply with a temperature check before entering the attraction.

In its safety guidelines, Universal Beijing said it will “strictly implement capacity limits and require reservations for admission”.
The resort said guests must “wear masks correctly, scan QR codes before entering entertainment, dining and shopping venues, keep a safe social distance when playing and queuing, and wash hands and disinfect frequently throughout the day”.
Universal Beijing closed due to Covid-19 on 1 May. It was originally due to welcome visitors again on 15 June, but had to postpone the reopening due to a new wave of cases.
Opened in September 2021 after 20 years of planning and construction, the resort is home to the Universal Studios Beijing theme park, Universal CityWalk Beijing, and two hotels.

The theme park combines Universal Studios experiences and Chinese culture across seven themed lands, which offer 37 rides and attractions.
Its lands include Universal’s first Kung Fu Panda lane, the largest Minion Land in the world, the world’s first Transformers land, and Universal’s first WaterWorld land.
In April, Universal Beijing announced a new parade based on Tencent’s Honor of Kings video game, as well as Minions-themed rooms at the Universal Studios Grand Hotel.
The resort is already planning its next phase of construction.
