Universal Studios Beijing is bringing Tencent‘s mobile game Honor of Kings to life, and adding Minions-themed hotel rooms.

Universal Beijing Resort has announced a series of new experiences, including a parade based on Tencent’s Honor of Kings video game and Minions-themed hotel rooms at the Universal Studios Grand Hotel.

Launching on 8 April at Universal Studios Beijing are the ‘Honor of Kings Heroes on Parade’ and ‘Honor of Kings Heroes Meet and Greet’ experiences, bringing Tencent’s game to life.

The new parade features four floats and is inspired by a royal parade held by Wu Zetian in Honor of Kings. It starts at the entrance of Universal Studios Beijing and runs through Hollywood Boulevard before ending at the Universal Majestic Theatre.

During the meet and greet experience, a group of heroes from the franchise will appear on stage and interact with the audience.

In addition, Honor of Kings merchandise will be available. Universal Beiijing’s new Honor of Kings offerings will be running through 3 July.

The new Minions-inspired hotel rooms at the Universal Studios Grand Hotel will feature stills from Illumination’s Despicable Me franchise and themed amenities.

Later this year, Universal Beijing Resort will launch a selection of Jurassic World attractions, including accommodation and entertainment experiences, as well as dinosaurs running wild in the park.

Universal Beijing is reportedly planning its second phase of construction already, with the project expected to expand the attraction by 2.2 square kilometres. This involves building five more hotels.

Universal Studios Beijing is the world’s fifth Universal Studios theme park. It is home to 37 rides and attractions across seven themed lands. These include the world’s largest Minion Land and the first Transformers-themed land in the world.

Meanwhile, Universal Parks & Resorts has appointed Joe Hoskin as executive vice president and general manager of Universal Beijing Resort. Tom Mehrmann is starting a new role at Universal Parks & Resorts as president and chief operating officer of Pacific Rim.
