Disney’s Avatar and Star Wars Theme Park Expansions: Opening Dates

Disney has officially confirmed the opening date for Pandora: The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom.

The Orlando Business Journal reports that the new attraction is set to launch on May 27, 2017.

The announcement was made by Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, during a conference call to discuss quarterly earnings with analysts.

He also confirmed that the eagerly awaited Star Wars expansion at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland is on course to launch in 2019.

Pandora: The World of Avatar is themed on the James Cameron film and will feature an immersive environment with floating mountains and bioluminescent forests.

The Star Wars attraction will include the chance to ‘pilot’ the Millennium Falcon.
