Hong Kong Disneyland has announced an opening date for the world’s first – and largest – Frozen-themed land, which debuts on 20 November.
World of Frozen is inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen and Frozen 2 and will put visitors in the cinematic and living land of Arendelle.
“This beloved franchise will elevate Hong Kong Disneyland’s global presence,” said Michael Moriarty, managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland.
“We are excited to offer our guests an enchanting and immersive experience, where they can explore the captivating wonders of Arendelle.”
World’s first Frozen land

The new Frozen land includes enchanting stories, favourite characters, immersive areas, and cutting-edge technology, as well as two new attractions – Frozen Ever After and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.
The Frozen Ever After boat ride will take guests to Elsa’s ice palace on the North Mountain. Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs is the world’s first Frozen-themed coaster.
The land’s restaurant, Golden Crocus Inn, is named after the national symbol of Arendelle. The sweet shop, Northern Delights, will serve candy and frozen treats. The toy shop, Tick Tock Toys, will sell toys, souvenirs and collectibles.
Michel Den Dulk, executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering, said: “This idea started as a sketch seven years ago and has since transformed into a beautiful land that will enchant guests with magical experiences.”
World of Frozen is the first of three Frozen experiences coming to Disney’s parks. Frozen is part of the Fantasy Springs expansion at Tokyo DisneySea, while a third Frozen land is under construction at Disneyland Paris.
New Frozen experiences

Frozen Kingdom at Tokyo DisneySea is set after the events of 2013 film Frozen and boasts the Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey attraction.
Meanwhile, Disney has announced a host of new attractions and experiences for its US parks at this year’s Destination D23 event.
These include a new land featuring attractions inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones at Animal Kingdom and a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge at Magic Kingdom.
“Over the next decade, we’re going to have more projects underway than at any point in our history,” said Disney parks chairman Josh D’Amaro.
