Costumes and Mascots: Rainbow Productions brings more Monster fun to Walibi Belgium

News

Walibi Belgium’s Halloween Monster Festival this year took place between October 17th and November 8th 2009 and park guests were again treated to a whole host of ghoulish experiences and special zones including the Monster Circus, Freak Village and The Serpent.

After creating a Yeti costume character which featured in the park’s 2008 Halloween Festival, for the second consecutive year the attraction commissioned UK mascot company Rainbow Productions to bring to life a ghoulish creature in a realistic and frightening costume character form.

The 2009 costume started life as a concept design shown to Rainbow Productions during the company’s participation at EAS 2009 in Amsterdam.  The result – a Werewolf – is pictured trapped inside a cage during this year’s Monster Halloween Festival, where guests came face-to-face with the creature.

Ahead of this year’s Festival the Yeti and Werewolf were both surprise additions on Platform 1 of Charleroi-Sud train station in Brussels.  Greeting commuters they helped to generate extra pre-event publicity by highlighting the Halloween festival taking place at Walibi Belgium in Wavre.
