Disney World Experiments with Virtual Queues at Water Parks

News

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Disney World is testing out a system for virtual queues the Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks.

The move could signal a response to Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay water park which opens in late May.  Volcano Bay will feature TapuTapu wearable technology that, together with other functionality, enables virtual queuing.

Reports do not indicate high tech developments just yet.  According to the report, guests were given a card with their future ride time printed on, attached to a rubber band which could be worn around the wrist.
