News
Martin Aquatic Matt Kent

The new recruit has over 15 years of experience guiding projects in the themed entertainment sector industry

Martin Aquatic Design & Engineering, a world-class aquatic firm, has appointed Matt Kent as its new VP for business development. Utilising his industry expertise, Kent will help drive new connections with prospective clients and ventures which will benefit from the addition of premium aquatic experiences.

President and creative director Josh Martin says: “Bringing Matt on board, given his experience as a business strategist in this growing industry, only made sense for Martin Aquatic. The scope of his work and the various niches he has reached already had a lot of crossover with our projects. We are fortunate not just that can he continue working with Martin Aquatic, but that he will be working for Martin Aquatic.”

Kent brings a wealth of experience from his career of building teams that have sculpted experiential projects within amusement parks, retail, dining, entertainment complexes and cultural exhibitions. He has also worked on many different branded environments, activations and pop-up installations.

A time of growth

In recent years, Kent has previously served on the Themed Entertainment Association‘s International Board of Directors whilst has was director of new business development at Scenario, an award-winning thematic fabrication firm.

Martin Aquatic recently announced its collaboration with Scenario, which will enable the turnkey design-development of thematic water environments for clients.

Kent’s transition to his new Martin Aquatic role will help foster this new company partnership, whilst enhancing his employer’s growth within its core segments of water parks, water features, resort amenities, themed entertainment, and the firm’s newest segment, Blue Mar Basins.

Martin Aquatic is welcoming Kent at a favourable time with the recent opening of several distinguished fountain spectacular shows, and the announcement of its latest patent-pending technology designed to enhance multi-acre swimming basins.

“I am thrilled to be joining this firm at a time of enormous growth in the themed entertainment industry,” says Kent. “Martin Aquatic has a longstanding track record of delivering excellence, and I look forward to working with clients and collaborators to continue to drive that growth.”

Martin Aquatic recently celebrated the opening of the River Falls Waterpark at Orlando World Center Marriott, with the company being responsible for the poolscape design at the hotel chain’s largest global property.
