Polin Waterparks, a leader and innovator in waterpark technology, has announced that its King Cobra waterslide has won a first-place European Star Award for the sixth time.
Polin Waterparks is proud to announce that King Cobra has once again picked up a first-place European Star Award from Kirmes & Park Revue magazine in the category of “Best Thrill Waterslide in Europe.” This is the sixth time the waterslide has taken the top prize, and the eighth year in a row it has been recognised by the awards.
The unique King Cobra has been recognised by several awards since it opened and is considered to be a game-changing ride due to its innovative design. It is the first waterslide to offer its own theming built directly into the fibreglass. The original theme is dramatic, with red, black and white scales covering both the inside and outside.
King Cobra also has an impressive scale, with a height of 50 feet (15.24 metres) and a length of 260 feet (790 metres). The attraction can be customised to fit within a park’s own theming and designs.
Continuous innovation

Nine awards in total were presented to Polin’s partner parks in Europe at this year’s IAAPA Expo Europe. This includes:
- Aqualand Frejus in France – First Place in “Europe’s Best Thrill Water Slides” for Polin’s King Cobra.
- Aquapark Istralandia in Istria, Croatia – Third Place in “Europe’s Best Thrill Water Slides for Polin’s Space Combo.
- Rixos Premium Tekirova in Antalya, Turkey – Fifth Place in “Europe’s Best Thrill Water Slides” for Polin’s Surf Safari and Ninth Place in “Europe’s Best Waterparks.”
- Aqualand Frejus in France – Ninth Place in “Europe’s Best Thrill Water Slides” for Polin’s Storm Racer.
- Tropical Islands Resort in Krausnick, Germany – Sixth Place in “Europe’s Best Family Waterslides” for Polin’s Jungle Splash Water Play Structure and Sixth Place in “Europe’s Best Water Parks”.
- Tatralandia Aquapark in Mikulas, Slovakia – Eighth Place in “Europe’s Best Family Waterslides” for Polin’s Family Turbolance.”
- The Land of Legends in Antalya, Turkey – Third Place in “Europe’s Best Waterparks.”
Earlier this year, Polin Group announced a new partnership with MCC Group at IAAPA Expo Asia 2019. The two companies are creating the Kunming Indoor Rainforest and Snowpark in Kunming, Yunnan, China.
