Alvarado dormakaba Group, a leader in access control and guest flow solutions trusted by attractions, cultural institutions, and entertainment destinations worldwide, has shared how its UltraQ-AMT admission turnstile is improving operations and the guest experience at Moonshine Mountain Coaster in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Located in the Great Smoky Mountains, the Moonshine Mountain Coaster takes guests on a sledging adventure through the picturesque landscape. Visitors enjoy a relaxing ride as the sledge is pulled to the top of the mountain, reaching a maximum elevation of 250 feet.
On their descent, riders can control the sledge's speed to enjoy a gentle pace or whisk down at up to 30mph.
The attraction has implemented UltraQ-AMT to achieve secure, efficient access control. Its motorised, visitor-operated touchless technology enables high throughput and reliable performance while requiring minimal maintenance.
Reliable, professional solution
Klaus Machne, GM, partner at Moonshine Mountain Coaster, says: "The partnership with Alvarado has benefited us in a professional solution for our guests and customers, and for an easy solution for statistics for us to see how many people have used tickets."
"One of the biggest points is how professional you would like to sell your business," he says. It's much more professional to have a device in place and the ticket solution in place that works not only together but also looks good."

"The experience with Alvarado has been great. We have had this particular unit here, our UltraQ-AMT, for many years and have no issues at all. It's super reliable. We scan over 200,000 tickets a year, and it keeps working and keeps working."
The turnstile has been so successful that the company has purchased further units for its Space Race Adventures sister company, and a duo racing coaster.
Customers have relied on Alvarado and its US-made products to safeguard their assets and manage crowd movement for more than 65 years.
The company's tailored, high-tech solutions are used by Fortune 500 companies, major sporting events, entertainment venues, large distribution centres, and beyond, offering the safety, guidance, and experience that employees and visitors demand.
Last month, Alvarado shared details of its work with Somersplash Waterpark in Somerset, Kentucky, to streamline and secure guest access.
