SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium has announced it is opening a location in Folsom, California – its second new venue of 2018.

Construction has begun on the SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium location at Palladio at Broadstone shopping mall. The facility will focus on hands-on exhibits and feature reptiles, birds, mammals, sharks, stingrays and other animals to interact with. It is due to open in September.

“We’re very excited to bring SeaQuest to Folsom,” said Vince Covino, CEO of SeaQuest. “As guests interact up close with the diverse array of exotic species we have planned, our goal is to create a fun and memorable experience. If we can do that, an appreciation of our planet and our environment will become a real priority in their lives.”

This newest SeaQuest location will feature more than 2,000sqm of interactive adventures such as exotic sea life in Caribbean Cove, tropical birds in Amazon Rainforest, reptiles in Egyptian Desert, and otters, sharks and eels along The Great Wall of China.

Visitors to the aquarium will find realistically themed exhibits where they can connect with animals through various hands-on encounters such as feeding sharks, stingrays, capybara, Asian small-clawed otters, giant Sulcata tortoises, large exotic birds species and more.

“The Palladio in Folsom is the perfect fit for SeaQuest,” said Gloria Wright, general manager of Palladio at Broadstone. “We pride ourselves on bringing unique experiences to the region, and this very fun, interactive, family-friendly destination will be a huge hit with residents and tourists alike.”

The new facility will initially open exclusively to SeaQuest members who will enjoy private access and be the first to interact with the animals.

Last week Blooloop reported that SeaQuest had started work on another new facility outside Denver. The 1,800sqm Colorado location is due to open in June. The organisation also has facilities in Las Vegas, Fort Worth, Texas, and Layton, Utah.
