Haystack Dryers, a supplier of patented body drying products, is celebrating the installation of a Haystack Cyclone body dryer for the popular Denny Sanford Family Splash Pad at Great Plains Zoo in South Dakota, bringing smart, guest-friendly convenience to the attraction and giving families a reason to stay and play longer.
Typically found in large theme parks and waterparks, Haystack Dryers are now making a splash in zoos, resorts, hotels, and community attractions across North America. The new installation at Great Plains Zoo demonstrates how these dryers are helping facilities of all sizes improve the visitor experience, cut down on towel waste, and keep guests happy and dry without needing to leave the park.
Not just for theme parks
“This is a perfect example of what we’re all about,” says Wayne Jacks, VP of operations for North America at Haystack Dryers.
“Our dryers aren’t just for mega-theme parks. Anywhere guests get wet—whether it’s a splash pad, lazy river, or rain-soaked attraction—we provide an easy way to dry off and keep the day going.”
The Cyclone dryer is designed for fast, touch-free drying. It features smart airflow technology, antimicrobial materials, and ADA-friendly access, making it safe and effective for families with children of all ages.
Without the need for towels or additional equipment, the dryer not only cuts maintenance and running costs but also ensures guests remain comfortable enough to stay longer in the park.
“When guests are warm, dry, and comfortable, they stay longer, spend more, and leave with better memories,” Jacks adds. “A dry guest is a happy guest—and that’s a win for any attraction.”
Haystack Dryers is continuing to expand beyond traditional amusement areas, with recent installations in municipal parks, public beaches, indoor pools, family resorts, and now one of the Midwest’s most loved zoos.
The Haystack Dryers team will exhibit at the upcoming IAAPA Expo Europe 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, taking place from 22 to 26 September.
