The 11th International Aquarium Congress (IAC)will take place from 30 October to 4 November 2022 at NausicaĆ” in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France. IAC will be aĀ hybrid eventĀ for 2022, meaning that guests who can't attend in person will be able to take part online. The virtual meeting will be held concurrently, with the same content.

A packed agenda
The programme, which can be viewedĀ here, will include expert keynote speakers as well as a variety of presentations. The theme for this yearās event is: āAquariums: engaged and active on behalf of the blue planetā. Meanwhile, theĀ secondary themesĀ for IAC 2022 are as follows:

- Scenographic design and production of cultural and scientific content
- Education, raising awareness, mobilisation
- The role of aquariums in society
- Adapting to a global pandemic situation
While the keynote speaker programme is still being finalised, the organisers received a very positive response to its call for presentation abstracts earlier this year. The agenda will feature over 90 different sessions, exploring topics within the overall theme and secondary themes.
Speakers include professionals from some of the world's leading zoos and aquariums, such as Bristol Zoo, the Horniman Museum and Gardens, Budapest Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Georgia Aquarium, The Living Planet Aquarium, SEA LIFE Sydney, the Aquarium of Naples, Planet Ocean Montpellier, Monterey Bay Aquarium and many more.
Registration to attend IAC 2022 in person is now closed, with a waiting list. Those wishing to register and attend virtually can sign up here. The virtual congress platform provides access to all live and recorded presentations on the programme and also allows virtual attendees to visit the exhibitorsā stands. An app for smartphones and tablets will also be available, with polling and chatfunctionalities.
