SEA LIFE New Jersey and Legoland Discovery Center New Jersey are set to open on May 4. The attractions were delayed due to COVID-19.
The SEA LIFE Aquarium boasts more than 3,000 creatures, including piranhas, jellyfish, seahorses and tropical fish. The aquarium’s theme is the ‘City Under the Sea’.
SEA LIFE NJ has been busy arranging the safe transport and arrival of its fish, who are housed at the aquarium’s 10 exhibits, inspired by New York City and New Jersey.
‘Urban Jungle’ includes the red-bellied piranha, while ‘Sharks Fish Avenue’ features a giant Pacific octopus. There are seahorses at ‘Water Ballet’ and moon jellies at ‘Jellies 54’.
Exhibits inspired by NJ and NYC
The aquarium’s main exhibit is home to more than 1,000 marine animals, including seven species of shark, four species of stingray and 40 species of tropical fish.
The ocean tank features an underwater tunnel with panoramic views of ‘fishified’ Manhattan landmarks.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of both New Jersey SEA LIFE Aquarium and Legoland Discovery Center New Jersey on May 4,” said Camille DePascale.
“Welcoming our amazing sea creatures over the last few months has been an exciting process and we can’t wait to entertain and educate our guests about the ocean, its inhabitants, and future preservation of our world oceans.”
Legoland Discovery Center opens May 4
Legoland Discovery Center New Jersey will feature interactive and educational experiences for families and children, including build and play zones.
It will house various Lego play experiences, including a train ride, 4D cinema, building classes and Miniland, a Lego recreation of landmarks in New Jersey and NYC.
