Wildlife Reserves Singapore: River Safari Soft Opening

News

River Safari, Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s newest attraction, has opened.

Situated between Singapore’s two award-winning wildlife parks, Singapore Zoo and Night Safari, the $160-million River Safari attraction offers an unforgettable adventure inspired by the world’s most iconic rivers.

The 12-ha attraction showcases animals from the freshwater habitats of the world's great rivers including the Ganges, Nile, and Amazon.

River Safari is home to one of the world’s largest collections of freshwater fauna.  The park features over 5, 000 animals with 42 endangered species, including Singapore’s resident giant pandas, Kai Kai and Jia Jia.

Visitors can walk through River Safari's freshwater galleries and immersive exhibits, including the world's largest freshwater aquarium at the Amazon Flooded Forest and the Giant Panda Forest.

River Safari will be offering visitors boat rides later this year.

As the first river-themed wildlife park in Asia, River Safari will bring visitors close to the fascinating wildlife that live in river habitats.  River habitats are disappearing faster than forest and marine environments and visitors will be shown the importance of freshwater ecosystems and the positive actions taken to conserve them.  River Safari itself will be involved in a global captive breeding programmes for endangered freshwater species.
