Falcon’s Beyond Global, a fully integrated development enterprise for IP-driven parks, resorts, media and merchandise, has confirmed plans for a new global leisure entertainment resort brand in a collaboration with one of the world’s leading hotel organisations.
The joint venture with Meliá Hotels International partner Falcon’s Beyond will introduce new leisure and entertainment-based resorts, featured within world-class entertainment destinations in prime leisure markets around the world.
Multi-faceted destination
The first resort, Falcon’s Resort by Meliá | All Suites Punta Cana, will encompass a multi-phase transformation of two existing Meliá properties in the Dominican Republic, with over six hundred rooms.
Phase one is expected to open in December 2022, including an all-inclusive resort with multiple premium bars and restaurants, pools, swim-up suites, a water park, and a kids’ camp. Phase two is expected in 2023.
Falcon’s Resort by Meliá | All Suites Punta Cana is just one component of the new multi-faceted $350 million Falcon’s Beyond Destination | Punta Cana, the first of its kind. The site will also include Katmandu Park | Punta Cana, a cutting-edge theme park experience expected to open at year-end, followed by Falcon’s Central | Punta Cana, a major retail, dining, and entertainment district currently being developed.

Falcon’s Beyond CEO Cecil D. Magpuri says:
“We have built more than a decade-long business relationship with Meliá, beginning with our successful entertainment hospitality property in Mallorca, Spain. We are now delighted to bring a further enhanced version of that model to Punta Cana by year-end.
“With Falcon’s twenty-two-year history creating story-driven entertainment and hospitality experiences for some of the world’s largest brands, we are leveraging all of our unique expertise and capabilities for Falcon’s Resorts by Melia to deliver an unprecedented vacation experience that goes beyond expectations.”
A long-term collaboration
Meliá Hotels International operates over 380 hotels throughout 40 countries. It will work with Falcon’s Beyond to develop multiple Falcon’s Beyond Destination locations including a site in the Canary Islands, scheduled to open in 2024 and two sites in Mexico, the first of which is expected to open in 2025.

Meliá vice chairman and CEO Gabriel Escarrer adds: “Our partnership with Falcon’s is a tremendous opportunity to offer a distinctly different vacation experience from our competitors by incorporating immersive and interactive entertainment elements and technologies in the resort experience in ways it has never been done before.
“We are thrilled to debut our first Falcon’s Resort by Meliá in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, an exceptional location where we have been operating for over thirty years and have a robust network of resorts and loyal guest base.”
Falcon’s Beyond has also recently announced a partnership with BRON Studios, co-developing and co-producing international IPs into feature films, episodic series, and gaming products.
