Falcon’s Beyond to showcase LBE tech at Licensing Expo 2022

Falcon's Creative SpectraVerse

Team will demonstrate the SpectraVerse attraction system, Falcon’s Vision AR headset and ON!X interactive theatre.

Falcon’s Beyond Global, a fully integrated development enterprise for IP-driven parks, resorts, media and merchandise, will be attending Licensing Expo 2022 in Las Vegas from 24 – 26 May. During the event, the team will be on hand to demonstrate its innovative products, including the SpectraVerse attraction system, Falcon’s Vision AR headset and ON!X interactive theatre.

These Falcon’s Licensing products have all been developed in Florida, inside Falcon’s X-Lab at its Orlando headquarters.

Immersive new products

The SpectraVerse attractions systems bring together cutting-edge projection, optics, and positional tracking, all custom-engineered to show multiple unique real-time interactive experiences on the same screen, at the same time. This means that users can see and interact with each other in the real world, while at the same time being individually tracked and perspective-matched with their own stereoscopic content.

The system can be used to provide interactive walkthrough adventures for multiple rooms in a scene-by-scene narrative (SpectraVerse Odyssey) or for single free-roaming areas (SpectraVerse Quest).

Meanwhile, Falcon’s Vision is a new durable and hygienic AR headset that can bring immersive interactive experiences into physical spaces with minimal operational friction, making it ideal for high-throughput locations. Each headset shows real-time interactive content across the entire field of view in a stereoscopic format running at 120 frames per second, per eye. They are also equipped with stereo-channel localised audio and haptic feedback.

Elevating experiential design

Finally, Falcon’s ON!X interactive theatres bring together real-time content, feedback, and responsiveness within a 5D theatre format, for immersive massively multiplayer video game experiences.

Users have haptic-enabled physical objects that are 3D tracked to interact with the content in real-time. SFX motion seats provide smooth and accurate movement in multiple degrees of freedom, alongside special effects to engage all the senses.

“We have already helped many of the world’s most iconic brands expand into new forms of entertainment that deepen connections with existing fans and attract new audiences,” says Cecil D. Magpuri, CEO of Falcon’s Beyond.

“We are proud and excited to showcase some of the most innovative, sophisticated technologies in the themed attractions industry that has the power to not only elevate experiential design and immersive storytelling, but also transform location-based entertainment as we know it.”

Last year, Falcon’s Beyond announced that it has joined forces with Meliá Hotels International to plan and develop Katmandu, a world-class theme park in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, creating a leading entertainment, dining and retail destination.
