Disney World gets new president as company announces leadership changes

New leaders announced for Disneyland Paris and Disney Signature Experiences

Disney Experiences has named Joe Schott as the new president of Walt Disney World, and announced more leadership changes.

Natacha Rafalski, currently présidente of Disneyland Paris, has been named the new president of Disney Signature Experiences. Taking over as president of Disneyland Paris is Christophe Murphy.


"Disney Experiences is in the midst of unprecedented expansion with more new projects underway across our global portfolio than at any other moment in our history," said Thomas Mazloum, chairman of Disney Experiences.

"These appointments reflect the depth of leadership talent driving Disney Experiences," he added.

At Disney World, Schott is succeeding Jeff Vahle, who is retiring this summer after a 36-year career with Disney.

Schott, who began his Disney career as a Jungle Cruise skipper at Disney World, currently serves as president of Disney Signature Experiences, where he oversaw the launch of two new Disney cruise ships.

Before that, he was president and general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, leading the destination through a major expansion phase, including the opening of its Zootopia-themed land.

Rafalski, a 30-year Disney veteran, is replacing Schott as president of Disney Experiences after spearheading the €2 billion expansion of Disneyland Paris, which includes the new World of Frozen.

With more than 35 years at the Walt Disney Company, Murphy will take over as Disneyland Paris' president after serving as the resort's senior vice president since 2023.

"Joe, Natacha, and Christophe have a deep appreciation of the guest experience, possess extensive financial and operational expertise, and a proven ability to deliver at scale," Mazloum said.

"I have complete confidence in each of them to build on the remarkable momentum underway across these businesses and to write the next chapter of Disney’s story."

Schott, Rafalski and Murphy will assume their new roles by the end of July.
