Immotion, a global leader in immersive edutainment, is celebrating the success of its film, Dolphins of the Reef, which has been honoured with the 2026 Lumiere Award for Best Use of Virtual Reality, presented by the Advanced Imaging Society.

The Lumiere Awards recognise visionary projects that push the limits of cinematic technology, demonstrating exceptional creative and technical accomplishments in immersive storytelling and emerging media.

Multi-award-winning title

This latest accolade for Dolphins of the Reef follows the film's success at the Los Angeles Film Awards, where it won the 2025 Best Virtual Reality Award. It was also named an Official Selection in the VR Showcase at the 2026 Poppy Jasper International Film Festival.

These awards strengthen the film’s position as one of the most celebrated conservation-focused VR experiences on the global circuit.

Dolphins of the Reef is notable for its stunning underwater cinematography and creative use of VR to transport guests directly into fragile reef ecosystems. The experience combines scientific narratives with emotional engagement, providing a front-row view of marine life while emphasising the critical importance of ocean conservation.

Rod Findley, CEO/president of Immotion, says: "We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition from the Advanced Imaging Society.

"To see Dolphins of the Reef continue to be recognized across film festivals and distinguished awards is a testament to our creative teams, our scientific collaborators, and our shared mission to inspire audiences to care more about our natural world."

The Lumiere Award further underscores Immotion’s dedication to producing top-tier immersive content for its partners, and supports its mission to educate, entertain, and spark interest in science and conservation.

As the company's second Lumiere Award, following its 2023 win for Best Use of Virtual Reality for Gorilla Trek, this recognition further bolsters Immotion’s reputation as a leader in conservation-driven immersive storytelling.

Last November, Immotion showcased its latest advances in immersive virtual reality storytelling at IAAPA Expo 2025. This included Dolphins of the Reef and Dinosaur: Evolution, as well as an exclusive trailer for its upcoming 2026 film, Polar Odyssey.
