The theme of Thrill Island comes to life from the moment islanders enter the lift lobby.
It’s themed around an undiscovered island that is known for the mystery of great adventurers of the past. Islanders will discover hidden treasures left behind from past explorers like Blackbeard, Magellan, and even the Wright Brothers.
This lost island adventure on Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas is home to highlights like Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, with six record-breaking slides and an immersive storm experience. The Eye of the Storm features 3 unique storm experiences that blend a variety of water, sound, and light sequences and intensities. A storm experience shakes up the waterpark every 5 minutes as a fun surprise & delight feature for islanders to enjoy while meandering throughout + in between the waterpark stair towers.
Thrill Island also takes thrill to new heights with Crown’s Edge, the first attraction of its kind. Part skywalk, part ropes course and part thrill ride, it culminates in a surprising, trap-door moment leaving brave souls swinging 154 feet above the ocean. There’s action all around the island with Adrenaline Peak rock-climbing wall appearing like a natural rock shooting up to the sky and the ever-popular FlowRider – this time flipped 180 degrees to give the rider a better photo backdrop against the ocean.
Young or old, islanders can take a swing at the post-hurricane desert island landscape of Lost Dunes - a revolutionary mini golf course that doubles down on the imaginative Thrill Island theming. Lost Dunes takes it to the next level with interactive play elements throughout the course, featuring ‘artifacts’ of past adventure-seekers, whose ships, planes, submarines, lost cargo, and fallen palms have been washed up from the Category 6 hurricane that passed through the island.
While adrenaline-pumping adventure is front & center at Thrill Island, there are so many ways to stay and play. BaseCamp is the “home base” of the neighborhood, serving up the island’s provisions in a mix-matched-décor outdoor eatery featuring a unique bar that looks like the islanders repurposed a boat to serve booze. BaseCamp also is home to the island’s resident parrot named Marty - a rather grumpy, yet light-hearted parrot who knows how to crack a few jokes at other islanders as they walk by.
Adjacent to Basecamp is Desserted Milkshake Bar, a deserted shack accessorized with windblown driftwood and buoys from shipwrecks around Thrill Island, is the ultimate spot for islanders to satisfy their sugar cravings.
