Kiss the Frog, a pioneering digital design agency, has secured a significant international contract as part of a consortium to create a new permanent exhibition at The Norwegian Center for Holocaust and Minority Studies (HL-senteret) in Oslo.

Out of 23 international applicants, HL-senteret selected the Danish exhibition designers Torden & Lynild, the Dutch museum fabrication specialists Heijmerink Wagemakers, the Norwegian digital agency Netron, and the Dutch interactive media studio Kiss the Frog.

Kiss the Frog will create and produce all interactive media, shaping digital experiences that help visitors explore and engage with intricate historical themes.

Experiences that create space for reflection

“A new holocaust exhibition is a major and important initiative for the HL-senteret,” says Jan Heiret, director of the HL-senteret.

“We have chosen a supplier team that we believe will be a strong collaboration partner, both in terms of professional expertise, project delivery, and the ability to develop an innovative and relevant exhibition.”

Alexander Zwennes, director of Kiss the Frog, adds: “We are incredibly proud to be part of this winning team. For us, interactive media is a powerful tool for storytelling.

"Our goal is to create intuitive digital experiences that don't just inform, but create space for personal reflection.”

The exhibition, scheduled to open at the end of 2028, seeks to educate visitors about the Holocaust, antisemitism, and genocide, with a special focus on Norwegian history. It aims to blend historical insights with reflections on how these events are relevant to us today.

The procurement was carried out using a competitive dialogue process, which included several consultation meetings between HL-senteret and the pre-qualified teams. These meetings aimed to ensure that the selected vision aligned with the project's significant educational and emotional objectives.

Earlier this year, Kiss the Frog delivered an array of interactives powered by Experios, its visitor experience operating system, for the new exhibition Soccer: More Than a Game at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, US.
