The Museum of Science & History (MOSH) Jacksonville, Florida has shared a first look at the visitor experience and galleries in its new museum.
The newly released concept images reveal three of 10 planned galleries that will provide more than 50,000 square feet of permanent exhibit space.
Developed in collaboration with Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA), a multidisciplinary firm specialising in the planning and design of museums, exhibits, educational environments, and visitor attractions, the galleries are named The Nexus, Superhuman, and Nature & Culture.

Each gallery will be built as an experiential environment, with The Nexus serving as the new museum's welcoming point, gathering space and flexible venue.
At Superhuman, guests will get to take part in activities and challenges that demonstrate the science behind human and animal abilities.
Nature & Culture will highlight the impact of nature on human culture and vice versa through media, storytelling, and interactive exploration.

“Our shared goal is to create experiences that allow visitors to explore the ideas and stories that shape Jacksonville and connect them to the wider world,” said Nick Appelbaum, president and CEO of RAA.
“Great museums create moments of discovery that stay with people for a lifetime, and that is exactly what we are designing here.”
Jill Davis, board chair of MOSH, added: “We are building this museum from the ground up at the exact moment museums across the country are being transformed into dynamic experiences.
"The galleries and overall visitor experience envisioned by RAA represent a bold reimagining of what a museum can be: immersive environments where visitors explore ideas through storytelling, technology, and shared experience.”

MOSH closed its former location on the Southbank in Jacksonville last year.
The new MOSH is part of a wider transformation of the Northbank shipyards in Jacksonville, which will become a new culture and entertainment hub.
