Expo 2020 Dubai is celebrating a successful first month after 2.35 million visits, 5,610 events, and 12.8 million virtual visits.

Expo 2020 Dubai is celebrating a hugely successful first month after 2.35 million visits, 5,610 events, and 12.8 million virtual visits during October 2021.

Expo 2020 Dubai said the first month was a “huge success”, revealing 2,350,868 visits from the UAE and internationally between October 1 and October 31, 2021.

28 percent of visits were made by people under 18 years old, with this figure expected to increase as the Expo School Programme expands in the coming months.

17 percent of visits came from overseas despite the pandemic. Expo 2020 Dubai has welcomed 185 nationalities, with the majority of overseas visitors coming from India, Germany, France, Saudi Arabia and the UK.

More than half of Expo 2020 Dubai’s visitors (53 percent) have a season pass, while more than a quarter (27 percent) have a multi-day pass. 20 percent have a one-day ticket.

Additionally, more than 1.1 million trips (from a total of nearly 3.6 million journeys) were made to and from the site using the Dubai Metro, a sustainable transport method.

Expo 2020 Dubai hosted a total of 1,938 government leaders in October. Also, the Saudi Arabia pavilion has already attracted half a million visitors.

5,610 official events have been staged across the Expo site during the first month of operations, and the number of virtual visitors has come to 12.8 million since October 1.

Expo 2020 Dubai’s first month in numbers:

In the coming months, the weather in the UAE will become more temperate, with visitor numbers predicted to steadily increase. Expo 2020 Dubai runs until March 31, 2022.
