Grand Palais Immersif, a subsidiary created by the Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais and a developer of digital exhibitions, has announced the opening of its latest production in Paris, France.
Visitors at the new immersive venue site at Bastille can now discover ETERNAL MUCHA, an exhibition co-produced with the Mucha foundation, providing unique access to the artworks and stories of Alphonse Mucha, Art Nouveau and Mucha’s artistic legacy.
Immersive new exhibition explores the artist’s legacy
Thanks to a spectacularly immersive and interactive format, guests will be transported to the heart of Paris during the Belle Époque and the Universal Exhibition, where they will meet the artist and humanist Alphonse Mucha. This new exhibition gives visitors a chance to rediscover an avant-garde artist who continues to influence contemporary culture today.
Alphonse Mucha was a key figure in the Art Nouveau movement and a pioneer of poster art and advertising. This exhibition tells the story of the artist in three acts; as a master of the poster in Paris; his involvement in the Universal Exhibition in Paris; and the presentation of his monumental works.
Mucha’s work has had a huge influence on different aesthetic movements around the world over the years, from the pacifist “Flower Power” movement of the sixties to Japanese manga, superheroes, street artists, the hit Netflix TV series Arcane and tattoo art.
ETERNAL MUCHA is curated by Tomoko Sato of the Mucha Foundation. It features a unique soundtrack, with original music from the Studio Radio France composers and Artisans d’idées production team.
Grand Palais Immersif also presents a slate of touring exhibitions.
