Imagine Leisure, a leading leisure consultant and developer, has been conducting research on behalf of The Hague ahead of its next sculpture exhibition.

Imagine Leisure is pleased to announce that it has been asked by the municipality of The Hague in The Netherlands to perform a research project. This is in order to prepare for the next sculpture exhibition to take place on the Lange Voorhout.

Many different types of sculpture exhibitions have taken place in this location over the last few decades. However, after a gap of a couple of years, the local government is keen to restart the practice.

Feasibility study

The municipality of The Hague has contracted Imagine Leisure to research what kinds of exhibitions might be successful in this unique location, and how best to start the project.

The company began the feasibility study by exploring the history of this tradition. It looked at the different types of exhibitions that have taken place at Lange Voorhout, as well as the reception they received from the media, the public and art critics. Imagine Leisure also conducted research into other sculpture exhibitions in Europe, to determine how this project can distinguish itself.

Following this, the company then performed a thorough consultation with field experts and local stakeholders. As a result of this research, Imagine Leisure was able to create a concept description.

One of the key discoveries was that this location needs an exhibition of a well-known artist, someone able to attract an international audience. It is also important that the exhibition has links to other locations around the city. The timing of previous exhibitions seems to have worked well, therefore the research concludes that the exhibition should take place for several months over the summer period.

Imagine Leisure recently supported Innoxite Leisure in acquiring ‘Het Sprookjesbos’ Valkenburg, a theme park in the south of the Netherlands.
