Medialon, designers of user friendly yet powerful, IT based audiovisual control solutions, have announced that their Showmaster Pro control systems were selected to manage and synchronize the audiovisual elements for FlyOver® Canada.
FlyOver Canada, owned and operated by Soaring Attractions, LP, opened in 2013 at the former IMAX theatre at Canada Place pier, Vancouver. The $20 million show takes the audience on a virtual flight past Canada’s landmarks. A 20m hemispherical domed screen, seats with movement synchronized to the film and effects including wind, mist and fragrances combine to create an immersive flight experience. The attraction also includes a 360 degree immersive multimedia pre-show.
Medialon’s Showmaster Pro manages the show’s overall audiovisual and lighting control, startup and shutdown, preshow synchronization and show control, ride lighting and sound effects.
Eric Sambell, Director, Construction and Technology for Soaring Attractions, says that Medialon Showmaster Pro was selected because of factors including “reliability, flexibility in dealing with multiple different devices, powerful programming system, real-time debugging, wide variety of built-in I/O, expandability, precise timing, and Medialon's responsive support team.”
