London’s Natural History Museum (NHM) has unveiled its animatronic T-Rex dressed in a new enormous Christmas jumper for 2022.
This year’s dinosaur-themed Christmas jumper is made from 100 percent recycled yarn, using post-consumer waste cotton and polyester from recycled plastic bottles.
The festive outfit was manufactured for the museum by ethical knitwear producer Jack Master, also known as British Christmas Jumpers.
The seasonal T-Rex can be seen in the Natural History Museum‘s dinosaur gallery, which is free to visit. The display will be available at the museum until 3 January 2023.
The jumper can be purchased at the museum’s shop in much smaller sizes while stocks last. It will be available to buy online soon, with all proceeds helping to support the museum.

Last year’s sweater, also created by British Christmas Jumpers, was 12 times heavier than a regular jumper. Director Snahal Patel said it was the company’s biggest job to date, taking 100 hours to complete (via BBC).
“We’ve never done anything like this. My dad’s never done anything like this and he’s been in this business for 35 to 40 years,” said Patel. “It’s probably the biggest thing we’ve made and going forward into the future there are other big projects planned.”
Earlier this year, the Natural History Museum announced that it had joined forces with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a cloud computing services provider, to transform and accelerate its scientific research.
The museum was also home to a climate café for eco-anxious guests during COP27. It was hosted by Force of Nature, a youth non-profit organisation.
