Thinkwell Group Publishes Guest Experience Trend Report: “Museums & the Digital Revolution”

Thinkwell Group, an international guest experience agency, have published their second Annual Guest Experience Trend Report.

The White Paper Report, “Museums & the Digital Revolution”, available here with a useful infographic, focusses on the museum guest experience and mobile integration.

The survey of more than 1, 400 museum visitors found that 69 percent of respondents bring along mobile devices.  Of that 69 percent, 73 percent used their device during their visit, usually to take photos.  The majority of those who not using their mobile devises were aged 60+ years.

The Trend Report provides in-depth analysis of the results and trends found within the market survey, revealing what guests like and do not like about their museum experience and offering recommendations.  Education and the chance to see real artifacts were seen as the most beneficial aspects of museums.

Commenting on the report, Cynthia Sharpe, Senior Director of Cultural Attractions and Research for Thinkwell Group, said, “The results of the survey are fascinating and, for museums, heartening.  Real stuff, real stories, real human experiences: it’s what museums do best, and it’s what visitors crave.”
